Hours: Fridays, 4.30pm – 6.30pm (term‑time)

Ógras Oirialla is seeking an enthusiastic, reliable and creative Youth Leader / Co‑ordinator to lead our weekly Irish‑language youth club for children aged 9–15. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about youth work, the Irish language and creating a fun, safe and inclusive environment for young people. The role would be suitable for qualified teachers or trainee teachers.
About the Role
The Youth Leader / Co‑ordinator will be responsible for:
– Planning, organising and delivering weekly activities and events
– Creating a welcoming, supportive and Irish‑speaking environment
– Leading games, workshops, arts activities, sports, cultural sessions and themed nights
– Ensuring the safety and wellbeing of all participants
– Supporting young people to use and develop their Irish outside the classroom
– Managing attendance, behaviour and safeguarding procedures
– Working with Gaelphobal Ard Mhacha Theas to develop the programme
Who We’re Looking For
This role is ideal for:
– Teachers or trainee teachers
– Youth workers or those studying youth/community work
– Irish‑language speakers passionate about youth engagement
– Creative, organised individuals who enjoy working with young people
You must have good Irish, strong communication skills, and the ability to lead groups confidently. Experience working with children or young people is essential.

Ógras Oirialla promotes the Irish language through fun, friendship and creativity. Our youth club offers young people a chance to use their Irish naturally, outside a classroom setting, while building confidence and community.
