The Mullaghbawn music group took the win at the Senior Scór in Castlebar this past weekend.

The group comes from Mullaghbawn and they are all members of the Traditional Arts Partnership. The group consists of Eamonn O’Sullivan (20) on the banjo/fiddle, Breadnan O’Sullivan (17) on the flute, Fionn Downey (20) on the pipes, Shay Flynn (20) on the guitar and Mark McDonnell (18) on the banjo. This is the first All-Ireland win for Mullaghbawn since 2008.

Over 50 people travelled down to Mayo to support them on the big night and there was an even bigger crowd waiting to cheer them on at the homecoming on Sunday. This group has been playing together from a very young age and it couldn’t be clearer when you hear them play. Not only are they musically talented but they are proud Irish speakers as well; 3 of them are even former Gaelscoil Phádraig Naofa students.
